The Club Manager communicates with Soccer Maine on all player registration and scheduling issues and passes that information on to each Team's Manager.
The Team Managers receive and clarify information from the Club Administrator and pass the information on to parents, team members, and coaches.
The Coaches focus on training, encouraging, and coaching the players.
Jamie Cass Matt Tilas - Matt Tilas was a hesitant coach when his son was 6 years old and the recreation department needed volunteers. He spent hours trying to figure out ways to keep 6 year old kids interested and engaged in soccer drills. The formula he discovered consists of an upbeat and fast paced practice that keeps a ball on kids' feet as much as possible. As he grew into his role as a coach and started to understand what the sport can do for kids, his passion grew for youth soccer.
Since those early days of designing simple drills, Matt has received his class E coaching licence and has continued to volunteer for Midcoast United as a coach and board member. Most recently Tilas coached a very young team of U10s, U11s, and U12s into a competitive fall season as a U12 squad who learned that a strong will and desire can overcome very difficult odds.
Matt's strong defensive approach, combined with focus on smart, possession-based soccer has taught our young athletes to see the game in a bigger way.
